Technology in Children's Toys
Growing up, I never had technology like iPhones, iPads, and even streaming services. I would go outside and play with my siblings. I am thankful that I grew up when I did. When I go out to eat, walk the Farm Road, or go anywhere in public, I see parents giving their children technology to keep them occupied. I think that technology is significant in today's world, but I believe that children should still go outside and be imaginative. It is incredible how technology is with children's toys and how much it has changed. Some of the new toys I have seen are pretty impressive, and the ones I will be discussing involve video.
Nintendo Switch Lite
The Nintendo Switch Lite is perfect for traveling, and the battery life lasts a long time. It cost $199 and is the cheapest gaming console on the market right now. It has a very durable design and has perfect colors for children. The console has games that come with it and can entertain children for hours.

Yoto Player
The Yoto Player is a digital storytelling device. It can read children's short stories and novels, host sing-alongs or educationals. It is a speaker, but the child slides the book card into the slot, and the Yoto Player starts reading the book. It is aimed at kids from 8 to 12 years old and is around $100. This is by far my favorite childrens toy out on the market. It is smart because if the child wants a story read to them, they can just put it in the Yoto Player.

Amazon HD 8 Kids Edition
The Amazon HD 8 Kids Edition is one of the best tablets parents can buy their children in 2022. It comes with more than 13,000 apps, videos, games, and other activities. It has a long battery life as well. The colors are blue, pink, and purple and come with a jelly-like case that is durable and safe if the child drops it. It is also cheap, selling on Amazon for $90. I think that tablets should be something children only get to use certain hours of the day, but they can be educational and entertaining.

Cosmo Interactive Smart Watch
Kids are surrounded by their parents wearing Apple Watches, so of course, they want one. Instead of parents splurging on an $800 watch that their child will break in an hour, parents can buy the Cosmo Interactive Smart Watch. The JrTrack 2 Cosmo Watch comes with verification GPS tracking, new seamless software, and interface, and bold new colors kids love. The watch comes with Family Safe 4G Nationwide network for calling, messaging, GPS location tracking, and more - all managed from the palm of the child's hand with the powerful Mission Control guardian app. JrTrack 2 lets parents stay connected without compromise - no social media, internet browsing, or unknown contacts, just the simple, powerful features on the watch. Surprisingly the watch is only $50.

Pixicade Mobile Game Maker
The Pixicade Mobile Game Maker is exactly what it sounds like. It allows the child to design their own video game. The children draw their own games and then snap a photo on a tablet. It is then animated, and the child can play the video game they designed on the tablet. The maker only cost $20.99. This allows children to have an imagination and have an early impact of design.
Osmo
Osmo is a STEM toy that parents and kids enjoy. It's also educational—through games, physical coding blocks, and interactive activities, kids will learn the basics of how to code and program. Bonus: The brand will replace any lost or damaged blocks for free within 90 days of purchase. "Osmo merges tactile exploration with innovative technology, actively engaging children in the learning process." The games are a little pricey, but it is worth their buy.

All of these games include technology and video. I think that most of them are educational, and I wish I had some when I was a kid. Technology changes all the time, so who knows what kind of toys will be available in the future. I think that the educational aspect of these games will allow children to have knowledge and opportunities that some people have never had. Educational games are also available to make sure your child is actually learning and developing while having their screen time, and they are important if you want technology to have a positive impact on their lives.
