Amazon Alexa

Alexa by Amazon has become more and more popular in the past few months.  Amazon Alexa, or simply Alexa, is a voice-based A-I virtual assistant. It is a lot like Siri on iPhone. Alexa is put to work by saying "Alexa" and is ready for any command. Based on statistics, Alexa will be a household item in the next few years. How did it become popular so fast, and what makes it so appealing?
Alexa's release date was in 2014 but did not get popular until two years later. In 2020, 27% of households had an Amazon Alexa in their home. According to Amazon statistics, Alexa gets smarter and wiser by the day and is a great asset to have in your home or office.
We have an Alexa in the living room and kitchen at my house. My mom likes to use Alexa for a timer when she is cooking. My dad likes to use it as a remote connecting to the TV. I like to ask when my Amazon packages will arrive. My brother uses it to help with homework and questions. My sister likes to play music throughout the house from Alexa.
As you can see, Alexa is helpful with any family member and can be used in many different ways. My nephew, who is 5, knows how to order off Amazon through Alexa. It is weird to think that children these days will not even see a world without an Alexa in their  house. It is normal for them to have a virtual assistant in their house that they can ask anything to. Even a bird that was posted on TikTok can talk to Alexa.

In a poll by VentureBeat, 65% of people stated their Alexa had changed their daily routines. 75% of people said they used it at least once a day, while 57% use theirs multiple times a day. With all the functions Alexa can do, you would think it would be expensive. Surprisingly, the Echo Dot 3rd Generation (the one my family has) only costs $35.
I think that Alexa is a great device to add to your home. It really does help a lot, and you won't notice until you get one. It has so many different functions that can help your day-to-day life. There isn't much Alexa can't do, from setting a timer, telling the weather, to checking facts and playing music, Alexa can do pretty much anything.
